In order to become a therapist in the state of Maine, you must complete the application process by submitting proof of the following:
Application with background check
High school diploma or the equivalent
A minimum of 500 hours in classroom and clinical instruction
Or
Received a pass grade on the NCETMB (National Certification Examination for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork) or MBLEx (Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination)
Current copy of First Aid
Current copy of Adult CPR
A 3x5 current photo signed and dated
And a $86 dollar check payable to the: Maine State Treasurer to cover the non refundable $25 application fee, $40 initial license fee, and the $21 background check fee.
